It is not the creation of wealth that is wrong, but the love of money for its own sake.
My thoughts on the movie, In Time.
I recently saw a new film that is out called, In Time. It is written, procured and directed by the same fellow who did movie called Gattaca, Andrew Niccol. He is

known for is thought provoking movies.
The idea behind In Time is this: People are genetically engineered to stop aging at 25 years of age. Then they are given one additional year of time as a starting balance. As time has become the monitory form and transaction, instead of paper money we use now.
Here is a better description from IMDB.com:
In a future where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. Here, Will Salas finds himself accused of murder and on the run with a hostage - a connection that becomes an important part of the way against the system.
In this film people are payed in time. So if you make enuf time in theory you could live forever. Assuming you don’t do anything risky like bungee jumping or fast cars.
This film brings up the idea there is no over population. It is used as an excuse to control people. Even if everyone lived forever it is not the end of the world. It is all a lie to keep people down.
What has happen instead. This society has instead instituted a form of corny capitalism. To hold the population numbers down. Were the supper rich control all transactions. To the point were if the poor get a hold of a large amount of time. They send the cops after them. In this case they are called, Time Keepers. Sort of like the Sandmen in Logan’s Run.
Logan’s Run and this film share a lot of similarities. A man trying to escape the control freaks who micromanage the less fortunate. These micromanagers happen to be to secenvent the laws in their favor. In Time it is one of the working poor. In Logan’s Run it is one of the police.
Speaking of the Sandman. In this film the Time Keeper also comes from the slums that our hero does. He has escaped, yet he believes no one else should be able to. Got to keep things the same. For the sake of being stable.
What is amusing is our hero of the film with his new accomplice a women who comes from the right side of the train tracks. Start robbing the banks that hold time and gives it to the poor. How the rich combat this, by inflation of living costs. Sound familiar? That is what the FED does all the time. Inflate what it costs to buy something.
All of this is wrapped up in a crime drama and a Sci-Fi wrapper. Even if you don’t agree with the point of view. Watch it any way. It is very thought provoking. Well writen and directed. That is even with a film that stars Justin Timberlake. Sci-fi is a great medium to sneak stuff past the people in charge, this is a great example of this.
