Mormons for…Ron Paul?! (by ReasonTV)
“I think it’s definitely possible to be a libertarian and a Mormon,” says Dustin Peterson, BYU-Idaho student and board member of Latter-Day Saints for Ron Paul.
Peterson, who spent time volunteering for the Paul campaign in Iowa, spoke with Reason.tv while in Spokane, WA about why Ron Paul might take Mormon votes away from the only Mormon in the race.
While many political analysts believe Mitt Romney has a near-monopoly on the Mormon vote, Ron Paul has spent considerable time courting LDS members living in Western caucus states like Nevada and Idaho (which happen to be the states where he performed best in 2008).
While he expects most Mormons to fall into line behind Romney, Peterson says Mormons have many reasons to support Ron Paul, including theological ones.
“Within our faith, there’s a concept called ‘agency,’ and that’s close to liberty,” says Peterson. “We’re taught to make choices and to decide based on our agency.”
While Peterson believes that Mitt Romney will still win most of the Mormon vote, he’s hopeful about the future.
“About half the students at BYU-Idaho are Ron Paul supporters, and the other half support Mitt Romney,” Peterson says. “There’s a battle going on right now on the campuses about the future of the Republican Party.”

My thoghts on the White Horse Prophecy and Mitt Romney.
It has come to my attention some who call the selves truth seekers and falsely accusing us Latter-day Saints as being part of the secret combinations. One of the points they keep using is the so called White Horse Prophecy. Something that has never been part of our doctrine.
I see this has a form of false whiteness. Purposely lying about our religion and its doctrines. I guarantee it has nothing to do with Mitt Romney. If we had a Mormon candidate who had the same platform as Ron Paul. The same attacks would still be happening.
To assume the church is going to dictate who we are going to vote for is sadly mistaken. The church is politically neutral when it comes to political candidates. I know plenty who are going to vote for Ron Paul. Some who still support Obama. Others who support the Libertine candidate or other 3rd parties. People complain about us yet they don’t complain about their own Pastors who preach on who to vote for.
Then I hear other complaints or conspiracy theory. If a Mormon were to get into office. The church would dedicate what laws and policies should be happening. This is also a straw man. If that were the case. Would not Harry Reid have a far more conservative voting record? Heck wouldn’t Mitt have had a better political record? The church believes in its member having a political free agency.
Now back to the White Horse Prophecy this is what One of our past leaders had to say on the topic:
Joseph F. Smith:
“I have discovered that people have copies of a purported vision by the Prophet Joseph Smith given in Nauvoo, and some people are circulating this supposed vision, or revelation, or conversation which the prophet is reported to have held with a number of individuals in the city of Nauvoo. I want to say to you, my brethren and sisters, that if you understand the Church articles and covenants, if you will read the scriptures and become familiar with those things which are recorded in the revelations from the Lord, it will not be necessary for you to ask any questions in regard to the authenticity or otherwise of any purported revelation, vision, or manifestation that proceeds out of darkness, concocted in some corner, surreptitiously presented, and not coming through the proper channels of the Church. Let me add that when a revelation comes for the guidance of this people, you may be sure that it will not be presented in some mysterious manner contrary to the order of the Church. It will go forth in such form that the people will understand that it comes from those who are in authority, for it will be sent either to the presidents of stakes and the bishops of the wards over the signatures of the presiding authorities, Or it will be published in some of the regular papers or magazines under the control and direction of the Church or it will be presented before such a gathering as this, at a general conference. It will not spring up in some distant part of the Church and be in the hands of some obscure individual without authority, and thus be circulated among the Latter-day Saints. Now, you may remember this”. (Joseph F. Smith, Jr., Conference Report, October 1918, p.55.) “The ridiculous story about the “red horse,” and “the black horse,” and “the white horse,” and a lot of trash that has been circulated about and printed and sent around as a great revelation given by the Prophet Joseph Smith, is a matter that was gotten up, I understand, some ten years after the death of the Prophet Joseph Smith, by two of our brethren who put together some broken sentences from the Prophet that they may have-heard him utter from time to time, and formulated this so called revelation out of it, and it was never spoken by the prophet in the manner in which they have out it forth. It is simply false: that is all there is to it.” (Joseph F. Smith, Conference Report, October 1918, p.58.)
This is just Mormon bashing. Nothing more. If they truly were seeking the truth. They would stick to Mitts deplorable political record. You don’t see Ron Paul attaching Mitt on his believes. You don’t even see Alex Jones doing it. One of the few things I appreciate from Alex.
On top of all of this. Our own doctrine preaches against the likes of the one world order. Its in our Scriptures. Preached by past church leaders. Like Ezra Taft Benson and David O. McKay and Mitt’s late uncle, Marion G. Romney.
People lets stick to the issues at hand and not go after people who could be your allies in the fight against global tyranny. Like myself.

Serve the only true God of the Land who is Jesus Christ… . REV 19: 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Stand Up For Freedom
A classic 1966 message in which religious and patriotic leader Ezra Taft Benson challenges Americans to defend their freedom against the socialist currents now engulfing our country, and he defends the John Birch Society.

Mitt Romney must not have listened to this, or care for it. Same goes with Harry Reid. How sad. Some how I think they don’t even care what past church leaders had to say about what it means to have liberty and how it works.

Liberty, according to my metaphysics is a self-determining power in an intellectual agent. It implies thought and choice and power.

Mitt Romney, Harry Reid and Orrin Hatch need to go back and read church history and scripture. What they are supporting is evil. Mitt Romney should know better. His uncle, Marion G. Romney was a general authority and a out spoken against socialism.

Ether 8:18: Secret combinations are “most abominable and wicked above all” in the sight of God.
Moses 5: 31, 49; Helaman 6:30: Cain founded the first secret combination and became known as Master Mahan.[2] This title and the oaths and covenants were passed down to subsequent leaders of the secret combination.
Helaman 6:24; Ether 8:14: Members of secret combinations are punished by the combination if they reveal the wickedness of their co-conspirators.
3 Nephi 4:1–5: Gadianton Robbers prefer to plunder rather than working for themselves.
Ezra Taft Benson: I testify that wickedness is more highly organized, more cleverly disguised, and more powerfully promoted than ever before. Secret combinations lusting for power, gain, and glory are flourishing. A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world.
Joseph Fielding Smith Jr: Satan has control now. No matter where you look, he is in control, even in our own land. He is guiding the governments as far as the Lord will permit him. That is why there is so much strife, turmoil, confusion all over the earth. One master mind is governing the nations. It is not the President of the United States; it is not Hitler; it is not Mussolini; it is not the king or government of England or any other land; it is Satan himself.
Ezra Taft Benson: The Lord raised up the Founding Fathers. He it was who established the Constitution of this land — the greatest document of freedom ever written. This God-inspired Constitution is not outmoded. It is not an outdated “agrarian document” as some of our would-be statesmen, socialists, and fellow travelers of the godless conspiracy would have us believe. It was the Lord God who established the foundation of this nation; and woe be unto those — members of the Supreme Court and others — who would weaken this foundation.
Ezra Taft Benson: I think it is time for every patriotic American to join with neighbors to study the Constitution and the conspiracy. Subscribe to several good patriotic magazines.
Ezra Taft Benson: The scriptures also tell about our inspired Constitution. If you accept these scriptures, you will automatically reject the counsel of men who depreciate our Constitution. If you use the scriptures as a guide, you know what the Book of Mormon has to say regarding murderous conspiracies in the last day and how we are to awake to our awful situation today (see Ether 8:18–25). I find certain elements in the Church do not like to read the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants so much — they have too much to say about freedom.
Joseph Smith: Having an opportunity of speaking to General Wilson, I inquired of him why I was thus treated. I told him I was not aware of having done anything worthy of such treatment; that I had always been a supporter of the Constitution and of democracy. His answer was, “I know it, and that is the reason why I want to kill you, or have you killed.”

This book is what open my eyes to what is happening in the world. Read it about 10 years ago. Rummaging throw the books on my parents book shelf. What a way of obtaining enlightenment. I never look at the world the same way again.

Ezra Taft Benson in this 6 April 1972 conference address says its not a conspiracy theory, but a conspiracy fact. He also endorses the book None Dare Call It Conspiracy, by Gary Allen.
This book links the communist conspiracy to the much larger New World Order conspiracy, which Ezra Taft Benson was fully aware of.

A very important concept. Vote for the person. The person who is righteous and of good character. Don’t vote for people who are just their for fame and attention. Never vote for people who are wearing sheep clothing. They most undoubtedly be wolves and eat your freedom up.

Song: Line Upon Line. From Saturday’s Warrior.
Lyrics:
Line upon line, precept on precept
That is how He lifts us
That is how He teaches His children.
Line upon line, precept on precept
Like a summer shower
Giving us each hour His wisdom.
If we are patient we shall see
Hopw the pieces fit together in harmony.
We’ll know who we are in this big universe
And then we’ll live with Him forever!
Line upon line, precept on precept
That is how He lifts us
That is how He teaches His children.
Line upon line, precept on precept
Like a summer shower
Giving us each hour His wisdom.
