Pentagon report: Sexual assault in the military up dramatically

shanksinatra:

There has been a startling and consistent increase in violent sex crimes within the US Army since 2006, according to a new Pentagon report released Thursday.

It comes one day after Defense Secretary Leon Panetta vowed to reduce the number of sexual assaults within the military, calling the numbers “unacceptable.” He announced that the Pentagon was preparing a series of new initiatives in an effort to try to curb the assaults.

While the measures that Mr. Panetta announced this week were widely welcomed, some democratic lawmakers pointed out that many of the newly-announced initiatives were already slated to go into effect with a law passed by Congress late last year. Others warned that the announced steps did not go far enough to combat the fast-growing problem.

The rate of violent sexual crime has increased 64 percent since 2006 according to the US Army report, which noted that “rape, sexual assault, and forcible sodomy were the most frequent violent sex crimes committed in 2011.”

While women comprise 14 percent of the Army ranks, they account for 95 percent of all sex crime victims.

Obama’s new Pentagon strategy: Strip benefits & buy more weapons.

The world’s biggest military is about to get smaller - with President Obama announcing the biggest strategy review in years, to try and make the U.S. army leaner and cheaper. It includes changing from large ground wars, to what he says will be an expanded agile force across Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East.

Via - RussiaToday

If he wanted to make it leaner. He would have modeled it after the marine corps. Instead he is trying to kill the military with a 1000 cuts. The Pentagon will never be effect by things like this. It would be the service man on the ground that would be F***Ked.

I have come to the conclusion he wants to make the military so bad. Were no one will want to join. He will then putt forward we need the draft again. Then he will be able to create that civilian corps he talked about in his campaign.

I almost guarantee these cuts will not close down any bases over seas. It will close down bases here. Why not reverse it. Close down all bases not based in the USA. Withdraw from all international conflicts. Then we could fund a leaner military. That is properly trained and maintained.  But that is not what his masters want.

VETERAN’S DAY MONEY BOMB!

good-gollymissmolly:

There’s a reason why a U.S. Army veteran recently called Ron Paul “a veteran’s best friend.”

As a U.S. Air Force veteran himself, Dr. Paul experienced life in our armed forces first-hand, and he’s never stopped fighting to make sure our servicemen and women receive the respect and benefits they fought hard to earn.

That’s why we need to make theNovember 11th Veterans Day Money Bomb a massive success so our campaign will have the resources to tell voters that only Dr. Paul has the record and ideas to make our nation strong, secure, and prosperous again.

So pledge your most generous contribution so we have every resource available to WIN this race!

In 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt received a rather large gift - a 500 pound globe from the U.S. Army.  The giant globe was believed to be the largest and most accurate printed globe of its time.
It took over 50 geographers, cartographers, and draftsmen from the Geographic Division of the Office of Strategic Services to compile the information to make the globe.

Two identical globes were produced at the same time. One was presented to Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The other was used by General Marshall and Secretary of War Henry Stimson.
FDR had the globe placed by his desk in the Oval Office.  It rested on a series of rubber balls set within a steel stand which allowed the President to rotate it in any direction.

U.S. Army prepares to invade U.S.

Uploaded by corbettreport on Oct 8, 2008

The plans to implement martial law in America have been taking shape for decades, hidden behind “Continuity of Government” contingency planning. Now, with public outcry over the banker bailout bill at fever pitch, all of the pieces are in place for the U.S. Army to start policing American citizens.

A soldier’s record tells a lot about a person. Not just what he’s done, but how he’s done it and why. And you have an uncommon failing for someone in your position, Captain. You are a patriot. You believe as I do that when we put on this uniform we took a solemn vow to protect Earth against threats from outside and from within.

1776 The Musical(1972) On this Humid Monday Morning ?Its the Eagle!

John Adams sings a passionate song about how he will not give up the fight for American Independence.
Director:
Peter H. Hunt
Writers:
Sherman Edwards (play)
Peter Stone (play)

Release Date:
17 November 1972 (USA)
The film version of the Broadway musical comedy of the same name. In the days leading up to July 4, 1776, Continental Congressmen John Adams and Benjamin Franklin coerce Thomas Jefferson into writing the Declaration of Independence as a delaying tactic as they try to persuade the American colonies to support a resolution on independence. As George Washington sends depressing messages describing one military disaster after another, the businessmen, landowners and slave holders in Congress all stand in the way of the Declaration, and a single “nay” vote will forever end the question of independence. Large portions of spoken and sung dialog are taken directly from the letters and memoirs of the actual participants.
Two hundred and thirty-five years ago, the United States Army was established to defend our Nation. From the Revolutionary War to the current operations taking place around the world, our Soldiers remain Army Strong with a deep commitment to our core values and beliefs. This 235th birthday commemorates America’s Army — Soldiers, Families and Civilians — who are achieving a level of excellence that is truly Army Strong. Being Army Strong goes beyond physical endurance and mental preparedness. It encompasses an indomitable spirit, and high ethical and moral values. These are not only desirable traits in a person, but in a Nation that wishes to live up to the ideals and vision of its founders. We are “America’s Army: The Strength of the Nation.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Declaration_of_Independence
The United States Declaration of Independence is a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies then at war with Great Britain were now independent states, and thus no longer a part of the British Empire. Written primarily by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration is a formal explanation of why Congress had voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain, more than a year after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. The birthday of the United States of America—Independence Day—is celebrated on July 4, the day the wording of the Declaration was approved by Congress.
