Cops covering cops who commit murder

beatyourselfup:

On the afternoon of October 2, 2006 my close friend of 20 years James Woodson was standing in the courtyard of his apartment building talking to his wife of 6 months, Pena. He had just gotten home from work, had gotten his mail and was lingering by the pool which was surrounded on three sides by a two story apartment building with the fourth side being open to the street. Fifteen witnesses in the apartment and on the street heard the gunshot and smelled gun smoke. Woodson fell instantly and was unresponsive, though in the panic the .38 caliber bullet wound in the left center of his back went unnoticed until he arrived at the hospital 20 minutes later, where he was pronounced dead.

Police investigating the incident interviewed all the residents of the building except one. An ex cop and terminal cancer patient named Daniel Lisuk. Several of the residents of the building informed the investigating officers that Woodson and Lisuk were not on friendly terms. But the cops acted like that didn’t matter, and stated in their reports that all of the residents in the building had been eliminated as potential suspects, concluding officially that Woodson had been struck by a stray bullet fired from several blocks away and that it had been done randomly. Yes, they actually contended that the bullet which struck Woodson in the heart was a random event.

They never bothered to ask Mr. Lisuk any questions or even knock on his door, or so they said. Five days later, Lisuk took his own life with a .25 caliber pistol in his apartment. The police again dismissed the possibility of Lisuk being the murderer since the gun used to kill Woodson was a .38. Without further investigation, they reported the suicide as unrelated to Woodson’s murder. It wasn’t until a relative of Lisuk’s cleaned out his apartment that he discovered the murder weapon in a drawer. He went to the police who were able to match the weapon to the round that killed Woodson. So the LAPD let this guy decide for himself over five days, if there was anybody else he didn’t like and wanted to kill before killing himself. I have a big problem with that.

Denver police beat a peaceful man literally to death (revived by EMT's), with witnesses, slap him with fake felony charges and ruin his whole life. 4 years later, no disciplinary action for the officers and PD still stalling the legal process.

“I always thought police were nothing but good and were there to protect people,” testifies Elizabeth Polak, a registered nurse from Phoenix. Her view of the State’s enforcement caste changed dramatically as a result of what she witnessed in Denver on the evening of March 25, 2008.

Polak, returning to her apartment following her daily jog, saw a man and a woman having an unremarkable conversation near the entrance to the building. Two police officers appeared – a development always pregnant with trouble – and approached the couple. From a distance of about 100 feet, Polak saw the officers stride purposefully toward the man, who was later identified as James Moore.

“The officers did not stop and have a conversation with Mr. Moore,” she later recounted in a sworn affidavit. “The officers walked up to him and instantaneously punched Mr. Moore. Prior to being punched, there was no resistance or non-cooperation on his part. Mr. Moore was not given the chance to comply with any orders, if any were given. It appeared that the police were on a mission to walk up to Mr. Moore and punch him.”

Shocked and terrified by the assault on Moore, the woman – his girlfriend, Julie Gomez – repeatedly exclaimed: “You have the wrong people!” Moore, who had been knocked to the ground, did what he could to avoid or deflect the blows directed at him by the assailants.

The attack on Moore “appeared to be completely unprovoked and at no time was Mr. Moore fighting back,” Polak – who has never spoken with the victim – related in her affidavit. “At no time did Mr. Moore try to attack an officer. At no time did Mr. Moore try to reach for an officer’s weapon. Mr. Moore was surprisingly calm.”

“I did try to stay calm,” Moore, a Special Forces combat veteran, recalled to Pro Libertate. “I just tried to assure myself that the beating would eventually stop, and I just had to endure it patiently. But it didn’t stop.”

Cops Storm Wrong House, Beat The Shit Out Of Innocent Person

Cops Storm Wrong House, Beat The Shit Out Of Innocent Person

A state police raid on a Winthrop Avenue apartment netted no drugs or arrests—but it left Tomas Torres hospitalized and his apartment in tatters.

Torres (pictured), who’s 54, said state cops broke down the door of his first-floor Winthrop Avenue apartment Wednesday afternoon, punched him in the face, stomped on his head, and then laughed at him as they tossed his apartment looking for drugs.

Police said he tried to jump out the window, then resisted their efforts to detain and handcuff him.

They had the wrong guy, said Torres. The police found nothing in his apartment and released him to go to the hospital, where he said he was told he has a fractured arm, he said.

ACLU sues Baltimore police for deleting videos off cell phone
The American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland (ACLU) on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against the Baltimore City Police Department on behalf a man whose personal videos were deleted after he filmed officers subduing and arresting a woman.
The lawsuit alleges Christopher Sharp was detained and harangued by police officers after he recorded the arrest. He handed over his phone to officers after being told to surrender it as “evidence.” Once the cell phone was in the officer’s possession, they deleted the video of the arrest and all other videos contained on the cell phone.
