Here is an uncomfortable pop quiz: Who has killed more children, Adam Lanza or Barack Obama? We’ll hold off on the answer for a few paragraphs while we look at the state of governmental excess – including killing – in America. But you can probably guess the correct answer from the manner in which I have posed the question.

We all know that the sheet anchor of our liberties is the Declaration of Independence. The president himself quoted Thomas Jefferson’s most famous line in his inaugural address earlier this week. He recognized that all men and women are created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights and that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The president would no doubt like to modify the word “created” to read “shall be maintained,” since his presidency seems dedicated to keeping us equal, not in terms of equality of rights and opportunity but of outcome. He has dedicated himself to using the coercive power of the federal government to take from those who have and give to those who don’t. Under the Constitution, charity is a decision for individuals to make, not the government.

Former Secret Service agent is a candidate for the local sheriff position, but his candidacy has been put on hold because he has now been arrested for plotting to kidnap a judge

Sheriff Candidate Charged With Attempted Kidnapping of a Retired Judge.

James Bartee is charged with solicitation to commit a felony.

A judge released Bartee on a personal recognizance bond on Thursday morning.

The judge said he does consider Bartee a flight risk.  Bartee was required to surrender his passport and can have no contact with the alleged victim in the case.

WYFF News 4 was the only news organization there when Bartee was led into jail.

Solicitor Chrissy Adams said evidence was captured on audio surveillance, and Bartee gave a person money to buy items needed for the kidnapping.

Bartee, who is a retired U.S. Secret Service agent, is one of four candidates for Oconee County sheriff. He is accused of trying to arrange to have retired circuit Judge James C. Williams Jr. kidnapped.

Bartee is accused of trying to arrange the kidnapping after Williams filed an action asking for a judgment on whether Bartee was qualified to run for sheriff. The action also asked for an injunction against creating ballots with Bartee listed as a candidate.

Williams’ filing claims that Bartee is ineligible to run for sheriff because he was never a certified law enforcement officer under state law.

The decision on Bartee’s candidacy was to be made by Judge Cordell Maddox.

thecrashtest:    While I may be one of the lucky ones, working two jobs to barely make ends meet, the rest of this supposedly beautiful country has to suffer. I cannot stand for a land that stands by a message that claims that we are free, when so many are bound to the very little they have.    Freedom?    Beauty?    Lies!    Sure, there’s plenty to be thankful for in good ol’ “America the beautiful”, but let’s face the facts: This country has been suffering from a poison, originating from wealthy and corrupt politicians that have slowly destroyed and depreciated our economy and everything good about living in “the land of the free”.    Don’t mistake this call for anarchy. Anarchy won’t make anything better. Instead, take this as a call to rise up, learn about your rights, and take charge of your lives. Don’t sit there doing nothing, spread the word and voice your needs. Society only changes if you will it.     March through the cities, climb to their rooftops and scream until those that are in “power” have no choice, but to hear you. It’s then that you’ll realize, you had the power all along.
