Mark Ciavarella Jr, a 61-year old former judge in Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison for literally selling young juveniles for cash.

Given all the data that is out there regarding young girls and STEM fields, ladies who demonstrate an interest in science should be culturally supported. A quick peruse of certain popular culture guarantees that they certainly won’t be getting that support elsewhere. Yet when 16-year-old Kiera Wilmot, who reportedly “got good grades” and had “a perfect behavior record” had a science experiment go awry, she was slapped with felony charges. Way to support our young girls in the sciences.
Wtsp.com reports that the teen was arrested and charged with possession/discharge of a weapon on school property and discharging a destructive device. At seven a.m. that morning at Bartow High School, Kiera allegedly mixed some “household chemicals” in an eight-ounce water bottle. The top reportedly popped off creating a “small explosion” complete with smoke. No one was hurt, according to reports.
In addition to her criminal charges, she has since been expelled from Bartow High School. It remains unclear whether there was any malice in the experiment. But even the young lady’s school principal, as well as her peers, believe that she didn’t possess any vicious motives:

There’s no clarity as to what she was actually trying to accomplish, or exactly how big the explosion was. I can understand people being on edge after recent shooting and the Boston bombing, but the charges seem trumped up for a simple accident. There could be more to this than meets the eye, but it feels a lot like another example of the criminalization of curiosity.

This is a legit headline in today’s Evening Standard on an anti-bullying report in which there is “anecdotal evidence of students being told to act less gay or to wear their hair differently as teachers felt they were making themselves a target for bullies”. Yep. Or, as one Reddit commenter sums things up, “What the actual fuck.”
In a way I can see this. In school I was the classic geek/nerd of the 90s. Before it was cool to be a brain. I was harassed to no end because of this. Middle school and High school is a place were the perception of being normal is the most important thing. Otherwise you get picked on my the so called normal kids, mostly the preppy types. You know the Jocks, cheerleaders and so called pretty people and trust found babies.
Now once you are adults and in college. Its an entirely different game. Most people are more accepting of differences.
For bulling, if it was like it use to be. You just deck the guy who is giving you hell. Instead of relaying on infective school administration. Now days you get punshed harsher then the bully.
Moral of the story? K-12 schooling sucks!

On UNICEF not wanting adaptions. I am sure has to do with the U.N.s zero population policies. We also know they also don’t like the institution of the family in any form. After all the goverment is the proper family. Of course they don’t care about what these laws do to the kids. What a sham.

In 2007, Guatemala’s privately run system of adoption attorneys, orphanages and foster care providers helped nearly 5,000 abandoned children find homes with loving families around the world. But then the Guatemalan government shut down international adoptions, created a centrally controlled adoption agency and nationalized the orphanage system. The plan was to promote in-country adoptions, but that plan hasn’t worked. Last year, only 35 children were adopted by Guatemalan families.
Why did the Guatemalan government put an end to a system that was giving thousands of abandoned children a chance at a better life? And what did UNICEF have to do with it? Reason.tv producers Paul Feine and Alex Manning went to Guatemala to find out.
“Abandoned in Guatemala: The Failure of International Adoption Policies” is a film about the promise of international adoption and the sad reality that international adoptions around the world are decreasing, largely due to the influence of UNICEF. It’s also a film about a privately run system that worked and a state-run system that is failing. Most of all, “Abandoned in Guatemala” is a film intended to raise awareness about international adoption in the hope that in the near future more abandoned children will be placed with loving families, wherever they happen to live.
